A Social Worker... Mr. Anil Kumar Jain

Mr. Anil Kumar Jain, Founder and Patron of the Society (Sankalp) was born on 17 July’1956 to a Religious Hindu (Jain) Family in the pilgrimage center of India at KASHI (Varanasi). His father Gulal Chand Jain was engaged in Jewelry Business in Varanasi, his mother Rani Devi was a religious house wife.

In his school years, Mr. Jain had average grades but was described as a bright and hardworking student who had a strong desire to learn. He spent hours on his studies, especially History.  After completing his education at the Queen’s College, he went on to attend Banaras Hindu University for Higher Education. He was very active in leadership during his school age. 

After completion of his education, he had come into the family business but the waves to work in the society, to serve the poor and needy people, which were still live in the deep of his heart, sprigged up. He started to contribute his time in health care centers, associated with Shri Agrasen Sewa Sansthan in 1992. In 1995, he has organized a Mega Health Check-up Camp at Town Hall, Varanasi, where more than 40 Doctors have contributed their services Free of Cost for seven days. Being encouraged from the event, next year again a Huge Mega Camp was organized on the same place which was continued for seven days with the contribution of 132 Doctors. Approx. 54000 patients got benefited in the camp. A huge crowd was there to get the benefit from the camp and to maintain Law & Order, the local administration has arranged Police Force. It created the Mile Stone in the path of Social Service of Mr. Anil Kumar Jain.

Under banner of Shri Kashi Agrawal Samaj, In 1996, he was elected the Manager of Shri Agrasen Kanya Inter College. He has contributed in all the aspects when and where necessary. Every teacher and employee was free to meet with Mr. Jain any time and was entertained and satisfied by him. He has arranged Free Ship to so many needy students with the help of the teachers and also provided books and other necessary articles. During this tenure, he was awarded with the prestigious post of Divisional Manager of Uttar Pradesh Vidyalaya Prabandhak Mahasabha. He has arranged a two day State Level Large Symposium where M.L.As., M.P.s., State Ministers, Teachers, other School and College Managers has presented their views. 

 

He was elected General Secretary of Shri Digambar Jain Samaj, Kashi in 1996. During his tenure of General Secretary, he has arrange a Panch Kalyan Mahotsav in the campus of Anglo Bengali Inter College. 

He has started a Campaign “Kshaya Mukta Kashi, Nirog Kashi” under the banner of Shri Agrasen Sewa Sansthan in 1997, exclusively for T.B. Patients, which is still continued.

He was always eager to do something new in the society to help the poor and needy people. With the Slogan “Sarve Bhawantu Sukhinah…”,  in 1999, he has created a N.G.O. named “SANKALP” at Mother Terresa Home, Shiwala, Varanasi and carried on the Campaign “Kshaya Mukta Kashi, Nirog Kashi” under the new banner with the help of many other socialists in Varanasi, as well as from all over India. 

Approx. 8600 T.B. Patients is now fully cured from this decease and a Camp in a month is still working in the service to the society. Any Patient may visit the camp, get examined by the expert doctors, may get the medicines (FOC) till the decease ends.

Mr. Jain has implemented his others plans in the field of Social Activities under the banner “Sankalp” like, Women Empowerment, Child Education, Save Environment Campaign, to encourage the new comers in the field of Music, Dance etc.

Since 2002 to 2011, he was active as the Manager of Shri Agrasen Kanya P.G.College and still working on the same post since 2017. 

He is also awarded as Sr. Vice-President of Kashi Sewa Samiti, founded by Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya.

He is also trustee of Shri Jagannath Ji Mandir Trust and Sai Baba Charitable Trush (Mumbai).

A person who devotes his life for the betterment of the human race is loved by God. Great men knew this truth. A bird or a beast collects food for itself and its young ones. It is some kind of work no doubt, but it is not that kind of work that man is expected to do. He is the roof and crown of creation and so he is supposed to live a larger life by applying himself to the service of humanity. “Work is worship” is a deep belief…
